we don’t use
Added fragrance (synthetic or “natural”)
Fragrance is there for the human, not the skin. It has no skin benefit and is one of the most common causes of allergic skin reactions, so none of our formulas contain it.
- US labeling rules let a blend of scent chemicals be listed as the single word “fragrance”, without naming them. FDA
- Dog grooming products have been documented as a hidden source of fragrance allergens, for dogs and their owners. Contact Dermatitis, 2023
- Scent compounds like linalool and limonene become stronger allergens as they oxidize: 5–6% of 4,731 UK clinic patients reacted to the oxidized forms. British Journal of Dermatology, 2014
